A city born for encounters, where folds converge.

If the city has a soul, it probably begins with reading.
Reading is the fundamental rhythm of life,
allowing us to pay better attention to our environment and to listen to ourselves.

The main exhibition area of 2025 Creative Taichung Co-Living, Co-Designed is a library, which houses not only books and their pages, but also the city’s thoughts and spirit.

Here, reading and observing are the most natural ways to meet, with the distance between people being just enough to accommodate the thickness of a book.

The display shelves aren’t extra structures, but an integral part of the library’s everyday operation. Videos are embedded in-between the bookshelves, screens climb the spine of the central island, and panels follow the sequence of the books’ contents. It is as if they have always been part of this space.

Located in the city center,
it is a model for comfortable living
and also a starting point
for experiencing the city through reading.
